Adults Who Visited a Dermatologist

Select a Zip Code
Measurement Period: 2023
This indicator shows the percentage of adults who visited a dermatologist in the past year.

Why is this important?

Visiting a dermatologist allows one to check in on skin health and potentially spot any early signs of problems. It is easier to treat symptoms the earlier they are found. The three major types of skin cancer include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. It is the most common form of cancer for young adults 25-29 years old and the second most common form of cancer for adolescents and young adults 15-29 years old. More people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in the U.S. than all other cancers combined, and one in five Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70.
